Scampi Camper
After piloting the sale of local Whitby Scampi as an "on the" go snack food at Seafest 2008 in Scarborough, Whitby Seafoods have decided to develop the idea one step further with a purpose built scampi van - the Scampi Camper, which sells delicious Whitby Scampi with tartare sauce in a cup.
The purpose of the 'Scampi Camper' is not only to promote the excellence of their local product, create a greater awareness of Whitby's fishing industry and raise awareness of the sustainability and health benefits of scampi; but also to support the Fishermen's Mission.
The Fishermen's Mission aims to alleviate poverty and despair in the UK's fishing communities, for both active fishermen, and those who have retired from the fishing industry. Furthermore, the Mission plays an active role in providing safety training for active fishermen. A percentage of each portion sold from the 'Scampi Camper' will be donated directly to the Mission, to help fund this worthy cause.
